It also caused great destruction in the school buildings and properties, including the collapse of the roof, the falling of windows, the dislocation of doors, the uprooting of trees and the destruction of school furniture.
The Houthi militias also targeted earlier their missile bombing of the Al-Mithaq School in the Madinah district and the bombing of the Salah Al-Din School in the Majzar district. They also used the schools as military barracks in the districts controlled by the Houthi militias, which made them also target sites during their absurd war by all standards as part of their indiscriminate terrorist acts. between civilian and military objectives and inconsistent with the teachings of heavenly laws, human values and international laws.
While we affirm our keenness on an educational environment that encourages stability and allows access to sustainable recovery under exceptional circumstances, the Iranian-backed Houthi militias systematically target education, by targeting schools in conflict areas, and their continued practice of kidnapping and enforced disappearance of teachers while they are traveling Their transfers and trips to their governorates and back to Ma’rib governorate, as well as teachers who were martyred while going about their daily lives as a result of the indiscriminate bombing of those militias on residential neighborhoods and gas stations in Marib city.
We also affirm that this targeting of the Revolution School and the previous targeting of educational facilities and cadres are tantamount to war crimes prohibited by covenants, divine laws, and international covenants that affirm the right to education in accordance with Article 26 of the International Declaration of Human Rights and Articles No. 13 and 14 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights In addition to applicable laws, including the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the two Additional Protocols to the Conventions, and customary international law under international humanitarian law.
For the third time, the Education Office in Marib Governorate calls on the United Nations and its envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and international organizations, foremost of which is UNESCO, to carry out their responsibility and condemn these criminal acts against human rights and educational facilities, as they are a blatant and cowardly attack targeting education and the educational process, and requires a firm stance and deterrent measures to stop such These ongoing Houthi attacks against civilian objects.
